Second life

Keep it in use

Every Toko MSA piece can come back to us — to be mended, passed on, or recycled once it’s truly worn out. Here’s how each route works, from the first piece we sell.

Repairs

Free repairs, for life

On anything we’ve ever made, however old, however you came by it. Our studio team mends by hand, with matching fabric we keep back from every run.

Buttons & zips

Turnaround times are our targets for the repair bench when it opens.

Rather mend it yourself? Ask at the studio for spare buttons, matching thread and a darning lesson.

Where returns will go, in order

Our plan
  1. 1. Resold as is
  2. 2. Mended, then resold
  3. 3. Remade into new pieces
  4. 4. Fibre-recycled
  5. 5. Downcycled into insulation

Each returned piece goes as far up this list as it can. From our first report, we’ll publish what share of returns ended up at each step.

Pre-loved

Pre-loved Toko MSA

Returned pieces, checked, cleaned and mended in our studio, each keeping its original traceability record. The rail opens once the first pieces come back — this is how each one will be graded.

Questions

The small print, in plain words

Can I send back clothes from other brands?

Yes. We can’t give credit for them, but we’ll pass them to a textile recycler rather than let them go to landfill.

What if my piece can’t be repaired?

If it’s within the 3-year guarantee, we replace it. If not, we’ll give you take-back credit and recycle the fibre.

Who pays for postage?

We do, both ways, for repairs and take-backs within Indonesia.

Do repairs really stay free forever?

Yes. Part of every price goes into a repair fund — you can see how much in the price breakdown on our story page.

When does all this start?

With the first piece we sell, in 2027. Repairs and take-back aren’t a later add-on; they’re costed into the price from day one.
