Why we’re building this

Most clothes aren’t made to come back. Ours are.

The biggest waste in fashion isn’t only how clothes are made — it’s how soon they’re thrown away. Indonesia alone produces an estimated 2.3 million tonnes of textile waste a year.3 These are the numbers we started from; from our first production run, we’ll publish our own against them.

Recycled into new clothes
<1%
of the material used to make clothing is recycled into new clothing.1
Landfilled or incinerated

of textiles, every second, worldwide.1
Kept in use longer
20–30%
less carbon, water and waste when clothes stay in use nine months longer — WRAP’s estimate for the UK.2

Certifications

Checked by independent bodies, not just by us

We only buy from mills certified to these standards. Before launch, each supplier’s licence number goes on the page of every piece it’s in — and you can look it up in the certifier’s own public database.

Which standard covers what
  • GOTS Global Organic Textile Standard Organic fibre, and how it’s processed from field to finished fabric. Check a licence: GOTS certified suppliers
  • GRS Global Recycled Standard Recycled content, traced through every step of the supply chain. Check a licence: Textile Exchange database
  • FSC® Forest Stewardship Council Responsibly managed forests behind our wood-based fibres. Check a licence: FSC certificate search

Buy less, buy better

We’d rather you owned fewer things, for longer.

So every piece is made to be worn hard, mended easily and kept — and we back that up in writing.

  • Free repairs, for life

Seams, buttons, zips, darning. Send it to us with a free label or drop it at the studio, and it comes back ready for another few years.

  • A 3-year durability guarantee

If a piece wears through with normal use, we’ll repair it — or replace it if it can’t be mended.

  • Cost per wear, up front

For every piece we publish an estimate of what it costs each time you wear it, so you can compare like with like.

Designed for the long run

Worn in, mended, passed on

We haven’t sold a piece yet, so there are no customer stories to tell — only what each piece is built to survive. Real ones, from the people wearing them, replace these after launch.

How second life works

Linen softens with every wash. We cut the Field Overshirt for year five, not week one — with flat-felled seams that don’t fray.

Years of wearThe Field Overshirt · European linen

When an elbow wears through, we darn it — free, for life, with yarn kept back from the same run so the repair matches.
